THEIA is always looking to provide a value to the TPWD Hunter Education Instructor. In keeping with our commitment to the TPWD Hunter Education Instructor we have reached out to several Texas based companies, including TrainingCREW.com, in an attempt to broker equipment deals for instructors to help them in the classroom.
THEIA – has put together a “Computer Package” focused on TPWD Hunter Education Instructors in an attempt to offer an affordable “turn-key” computer package that any Instructor can set up and use to teach TPWD Hunter Education classes.
This “Computer Package” is considered “PLUG & PLAY”, meaning that all one needs to do is plug in the laptop, connect the projector and open the Hunter Education PowerPoint to be up and running teaching a Hunter Education class.
UPDATE: 09/20/2019 – After brokering a deal with our friends at Fresh Air Educators, Inc., we are pleased to announce that all computers will now have HE TOOLS™ loaded onto the computers ready to go. Price of the “Computer Package” to THEIA members is a flat $155.00 delivered to your address anywhere within the state of Texas.

Price of the computer package to non-THEIA members is a flat price of $170.00 delivered anywhere in Texas only. $12.00 of this price will include your membership to THEIA.
All computer packages come with a 90 warranty.
INCLUDED IN THE “HUNTER EDUCATION PACKAGE”:
Laptop
- Reset to factory settings, refurbished with 90 day warranty.
- Laptop is pre-loaded with a legal Operating System
- Laptop includes WiFi & Ethernet connectivity
- Laptop is pre-loaded with a program that will run Microsoft PowerPoint
- Laptop is pre-loaded with Apache OpenOffice, a “Office & Productivity Package” that will run and support all Microsoft Office products.
- Laptop is pre-loaded will be a folder on the desktop of the computer that will be TPWD & THEIA related documents, including the TPWD PowerPoint presentation.
- Laptop will be loaded with a copy of HE TOOLS™ for Instructors to use in the classroom as an interactive training tool.
- Laptop DOES have a headphone/speaker audio out jack to connect external speakers.
- Laptop includes power supply / charger and all connection cables.
- Laptop model may vary from photographs but will function the same.
- Battery life not guaranteed but will hold a charge. Brand new batteries are available on Amazon or eBay for about $15.00 ea.
- A digital manual for the Laptop will be included in the TPWD & THEIA folder under a sub folder titled “Equipment”
- Laptops may have some external school district markings or stickers. Laptops are used and as such may have cosmetic blemishes that are expected with all used products but in no way affect the operation or serviceability of the equipment to perform as intended. All laptops have been legally removed from inventory for the given school district. These markings do not affect the operation of the equipment in any way.
Computer Projector
- The computer projectors have been fully tested and reset to factory settings.
- Projector comes with a 90 warranty.
- The lamps on the projectors are the most expensive part of the projector.
- Average lamp life on these projectors is 2000 hours or 3000 hours in economy mode. With an average classroom time of 6 hours @ 50% lamp life left on the lamp one could reasonably expect if you only had 1000 hours left on the lamp you could conduct 166 classes before failure.
- The lamps on these projectors have at a minimum 50% to 60% life left on the lamp as indicated by the hour meter found in the projector settings menu. A random sampling of the projects yielded some units that had 80% to 90% life left on the lamps. The minimum specification for this package is 50% life minimum. As these packages are assembled randomly we have no control over the projector you will receive.
- Projector includes power cable and cables to connect to Laptop.
- Projector model may vary from photograph but will function the same and have same overall specifications.
- A digital manual for the projector will be included in the TPWD & THEIA folder under a sub folder titled “Equipment”
- The projectors are “Plug & Play”, simply connect to laptop turn on power and your Hunter Education PowerPoint presentation will be displayed via the projector.
- Projectors may have some external school district markings or stickers. All projectors have been legally removed from inventory for the given school district. These markings do not affect the operation of the equipment in any way.
- Current replacement lamp (VT60LP) prices on eBay are running between $45 – $110 USD.
When this offer was posted the supplier could commit to ONLY 42 packages as outlined here. As we procure more equipment we will be building new additional packages. These computer packages are being offered on a first come, first served basis. Stock remaining indicated at the top of this page.
NOTICE – Once payment is received we will verify your status as a Certified TPWD Hunter Education Instructor in good standing with the department. Once funds have cleared and we verify your status as a Instructor the “Classroom in a Box” will ship out within 5 business days.

Status as a TPWD HE Instructor will be verified before package will ship.
